Our bamboo gates are expertly crafted from solid, side-pressed bamboo pieces that are laminated together with waterproof epoxy glue. This innovative construction technique ensures that the entire piece is one solid unit with no joints, eliminating the risk of sagging over time. With a tensile strength greater than stainless steel and a hardness rating greater than Red Oak, our bamboo gates are incredibly strong and durable, built to withstand years of use.
Our bamboo gates are stained to enhance the natural beauty of the bamboo grain and are covered with three layers of high grade clear coat with a matte finish. This provides not only a stunning appearance, but also protects the gate from moisture and wear, ensuring it maintains its beauty and durability for years to come.
Cedar, commonly used in traditional gates of this type, falls short compared to bamboo in terms of strength and cost-effectiveness. Additionally, the mortise and tenon joinery technique used in cedar gate construction requires "clear" wood without knots, which is only found in the inner depths of very old trees that are 300+ years old. In contrast, bamboo offers superior durability and affordability, making it a better choice for gate construction.
